Our Approach to Minimally Invasive Surgery
Dr. Lekha has advanced training in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, which offers many benefits such as reduced pain, smaller scars, faster recovery and shorter hospital stays.
Her practice includes:
Laparoscopy
A minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat pelvic conditions such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis, benign ovarian masses, tubal disorders, uterine fibroids, adhesions, ectopic pregnancy and more.
Hysteroscopy
Examination of the uterine cavity using a small scope; removal of fibroids or polyps inside the uterus, correction of intrauterine abnormalities, investigation/treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, submucosal fibroids, congenital uterine anomalies.
Fibroids Treatment
For fibroids not amenable to medical therapy, minimally invasive removal (laparoscopic myomectomy), or using hysteroscopic methods if fibroids are inside the cavity. Option to preserve fertility.
Abnormal Uterine Bleeding / Uterine Pathology
Using hysteroscopy to evaluate and treat causes of heavy/irregular bleeding; also laparoscopy to assess external pathologies.
